Gazebo Project

The Mouse River Park Association Improvement Committe was organized this spring with the first major project being the construction of a 48 ft. gazebo on the site of the old roller skating rink.  The Idea came about after considering what to do with the available concrete slab, and also as of way of paying tribute to past, present and future individuals who have help develope this area from the early teens to the ones who will strive to keep it going into the future.  Once the facility is completed it will become the property of Renville County to maintain.

The gazebo will be available for many activities such as reunions, weddings, anniversary celebrations, meetings, etc.  This will certainly enhance the beautiful area which includes camping for approx 150, 100 cabins and homes, restaurant and bar facilities, picnic areas auditorium, heated bath houses, boat dock, new fishing pier and the unique atmosphere of the river that winds through the park.

The primary structure will be maintenance free, powder coated steel.  As funding allows, there are plans to add an overlay concrete floor with an imprint design, enclosing the Gazebo with a three season type construction, a waterfall feature on the back wall with donation and memorial recognitions on either side.  The Gazebo will be wired for lighting, receptacles and sound.  There are also plans for smaller matching Kiosks on either side of the Gazebo for vendors or a small kitchen facility.

Although there has been small fundraising going on prior to 2006, it began in earnest in the spring of this year.  There have been raffles, pork and elk feeds, silent auctions, rummage sales, golf tournament, sales of jackets, T-shirts, cookbooks and of course the generous donations from Individuals, Communities, Corporations and businesses. We are well on our way to raising the approx $80,000 estimated to do the project right.

This project could not have moved forward without the contributions of time and funding by many individuals.  But we need your help to keep the project moving.  The plans for giving proper recognition to donators and memorials are being finalized.  This is a very important feature for this building as this is what it is all about. Details of this will be made available as soon as possible.

The Committe was established as a non profit organization and contributions to it are tax deductable. If you would like to contribute to this project with a donation or memorial, you can send it to :
